Gavel Moot 2019

The second annual Central Asian moot "Gavel" will take place in Bishkek on May 25-26, where students can argue the multi-million investment case.

The Gavel Moot is a simulation of an arbitration session, where students prepare their written memorandums for a particular fictitious case and appear before the real judges and experts. The second annual Gavel Moot is aimed to bring together 50 students from prestigious Law Schools of Tashkent, (Uzbekistan), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Almaty, Astana (Kazakhstan) and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). Leading investment law experts from different law firms, government agencies, and university professors will judge students' presentations and share their experience in multi-million international investment disputes.

Who can participate?
The law students of 4 CA countries. The Gavel Moot 2019 is conducted in English and targets law students of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan who are interested in investment law.

Where will it take place?
In Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The moot will take place in the American University of Central Asia which is located near the beautiful mountains in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

What about the price?
The participation is free. Thanks to our donors the participation is free. There are a limited number of scholarships available for international participants. The scholarship covers air transportation, accommodation, and day-time food.

The Gavel Moot is organized by the C5 + 1 Youth Council within the framework of improving the business integration of Central Asian countries and increasing the competitiveness of the local business.
