Excursion to T. Satylganov Literature and Art Museum

Throughout centuries the Kyrgyz had used different types of writing systems, from runic, arabic to Cyrillic. Did you know that in recent history many of the works on Kyrgyz philology were actually written in the Latin alphabet? During our visit to the literature and art museum we will see first editions of Manas epic, first prints, and unique documents associated with the representatives of literature and music. Those two go hand in hand in the Kyrgyz literary tradition, and akyns (minstrels) are considered both singers and writers, with some of them improvising on the go. So we shall also see musical instruments that used to accompany the great poets of the past, whose names are known to all.
